“Lemonade Diet Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs”
The Lemonade Diet Master Cleanser was first created by a naturopath, Stanley Burroughs (1903-1991) in 1941. His intent was simple – to help treat ulcers and other internal ailments.
The Lemonade Diet Cleanser enjoyed a vogue in the late ’70s after Stanley published his book, “The Master Cleanser”. His fans then were natural health enthusiasts, interested in flushing their bodies of deadly toxins and impurities like pesticides and food additives with natural means. The book is a disorganized, difficult-to-decipher jumble.
Burroughs promoted a number of alternative practices beyond the Lemonade Diet Master Cleanser, including light therapy, deep massage, and reflexology, and he was a vegetarian.
Amazon.com reported (as of 2007-04-10) a sales rank of #170 for The Lemonade Diet Master Cleanser.
