New Health Website to Help People Feel Great

Dear All, As many of you may know, Tim Russert, host of Meet the Press, passed away recently from sudden cardiac death. I wanted to take this time to share with you a little information about sudden cardiac death, and a prevention strategy that may be of help to you, your family or friend — which is that fish oil, 1 g of EPA and DHA a day can reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death greatly. Here is more information on sudden cardiac death: www.americanheart.org American Heart Association recommends 1 g of EPA and DHA if you have heart disease: www.americanheart.org In the video, I refer to several different studies; 1) This is the big 1999 fish oil study that I mentioned www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov 2) Here is the link to the review showing that fish oil beats out statins in reducing risk of death: archinte.ama-assn.org 3) Here is a review article talking about benefits vs. risks of fish jama.ama-assn.org More information on primary and secondary endpoints: www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov Here is the link to my website: www.bostonmedicalstudent.wordpress.com ______ PS I wanted to point out something important: that the opinions expressed in this post are not necessarily those of Harvard Medical School, its affiliated institutions, or Harvard University. Also, I’m just a medical student, so my posts are hopefully conversation starters, but only conversation starters — not medical advice. If my posts intrigue you, please read more about the topic and discuss about it with your doctor. I

Are you looking for information on the master cleanse diet, this diet has more than sixty years of weight loss success stories and is the ideal program for anyone who wants to lose weight.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) February 14, 2009

According to a 2004 report by the American Sports Data, Inc, a consumer survey research group, 31 percent of Americans are obese with a body mass index (BMI) in excess of 30.0. This finding correlates with a report by the U.S. Surgeon General that claims that obesity is responsible for 300,000 deaths every year.

Entrepreneur Garry Smith went through his own health scare, so when it came time to start his own business, he went with something that would help people.

“About three years ago, I was misdiagnosed with diabetes,” explained Smith. “I went to a course with a nutritionist who helped me lose about 30 pounds. I changed some of my eating habits and it was the best that I had felt in a long time.”

Soon after, Smith became aware of the incorrect diagnosis, but continued on the path of eating well and making smart lifestyle choices. He wanted to share what he had learned with others, so he launched www.GRSForHealth.com in November 2008.

“This is a way to share experiences and help people live a long healthy life,” he said.

Smith’s website features health news from the American Medical Association and additional resources for diets and exercise programs.

Smith’s newest endeavor is an extension of his website – a recently launched health blog.

“We have tips on how to burn body fat and how to come up with a good fitness routine,” Smith said of www.GRSForHealthInfo.com. “I’m also sharing my stories about what I went through during my diabetic health scare. Eating right is imperative and it can really make a difference between feeling great and feeling drab.”

While many sites promote one method of losing weight and feeling well, GRSForHealth.com takes the best of everything and makes it readable for people, whether it’s fitness or eating well, Smith’s project is one of the most important sites on the internet.

“I’m going to keep fresh information on it and I will continue to add news and other resources that will help people in bettering their health,” said Smith. “I’m proof that if you eat right, it can make a big difference.”
